1999 Wurtele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Terra Valentine was founded by Angus and Margaret Wurtele in 1995. Four years later the Wurtles acquired the 80-acre Yverdon property, three miles above their home on Spring Mountain. The artisan fieldstone winery is surrounded by steeply sloped vineyards in undulating land of rocky clay soil.
Winemaker Sam Baxter brings inventive ideas to winegrowing. His winemaking techniques are complemented by his father, general manager Phil Baxter, who has more than thirty years of winemaking experience in Napa Valley. With an appreciation of new technology enhanced by tradition, Terra Valentine introduces the 1999 Napa Valley Spring Mountain District and Wurtele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon wines as the initial offering for national distribution.
Aromas: Bing cherry, blackberry, dark chocolate, earthy, spicy clove/black pepper Dark color
Mouth: Rich, full fruit tannin entry, long full bodied mid palate with a crisp well balanced finish with some toasty caramel oak undertones
Our fourth vintage of Wurtele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is full of bing cherry, blackberry and spicy cloves in the nose. On the palate, concentrated blackberry, cassis and dark chocolate meld with full rich tannins. This well balanced wine finishes with undertones of toasty caramel.
