2009 Estate Syrah
Vineyard: The Estate Syrah is sourced from the Yverdon Vineyard at an elevation of 2,000 feet. Four small blocks were planted in 2006 to three French clones of syrah, 174, 470, and 525. These vines are tucked up against the ridge at some of the highest and cooler elevations on the property. The soils in this area are extremely rocky which contribute to the struggle that these vines endure.
Tasting Notes: The 2009 syrah shows a beautiful nose of nutmeg, dark fruits, and toasty oak. On the palate dried fruit meld with complex spice notes. Bittersweet chocolate lingers for a long soft finish.
